The town of Groton is a municipality governed by a selectboard, which provides services to its residents that include a fire department, fast squad, public library, and the Groton Emergency Food Shelf. The Food Shelf is volunteer-run and provides emergency food services for the residents of Groton and Ryegate, as well as holiday programs.
