Evaluates children's health needs, talks with parents about preventive health care, makes referrals to health care providers, and assures that access occurs and follow-up treatment is received. Provides an online information/education resource library on children's health needs.

Identifies, treats and supports children who are suspected to have experienced or are at risk of experiencing abuse and neglect. Conducts multidisciplinary evaluations of children in the hospital and in the Child Safe Clinic on an urgent and routine basis. A core goal of this program is to ensure that all children who are suspected of being maltreated receive standardized, appropriate medical care and psychosocial support to address their medical and safety needs.
