Offers emergency financial assistance and post-service skills training to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families.

Assists veterans with identifying and securing paid employment opportunities that match their abilities, qualifications, experience, and interests. Provides information and guidance regarding preparing a resume, writing job application letters, completing job application questionnaires, responding to job ads, and taking employment tests. Also offers support with preparing for interviews and work, including personal appearance and interview techniques; and addresses other related topics. May provide financial assistance for job training expenses, certification programs, interview and work clothing, preparation, and transportation.

Prepares veterans and others for meaningful careers, and provides them with employment resources and expertise, protects their employment rights, and promotes their employment opportunities. Provides assistance to individuals experiencing service-connected problems with their civilian employment and provides information about the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) to employers.
